Caves 101

Halotherapy, derived from the Greek word "halo" meaning salt, is a contemporary holistic approach that emulates the natural microclimate found in salt mines. Within our handcrafted salt caves, individuals can reap the healthy benefits that are the equivalent to three hours spent in a salt mine.

The magic lies in the halogenerator, which crushes pharmaceutical-grade salt into micronized particles, dispersing them throughout the air in the cave.

Clinical studies have illustrated that inhaling this salt-infused air can activate the body's natural respiratory defenses, aiding in inflammation reduction, infection resistance, blockage clearance, and alleviate discomfort.

Contraindications: Although halotherapy is generally considered safe, it's important to note that certain individuals should approach it with caution or refrain from participating altogether. These groups include those with severe chronic respiratory conditions, open wounds or sores, contagious illnesses, fever, cancer, severe hypertension, mental health disorders, active tuberculosis, and individuals undergoing chemotherapy.

Leonardo Would Be Pleased

Stepping into one of our caves is akin to entering a living masterpiece. It evokes both inspiration and awe.

Handcrafted from 22 TONS of pink organic Himalayan salt responsibly sourced from the Khewra Salt Mine situated in the Punjab region of Pakistan, close to the Himalayas. This mine is believed to date back over 300 million years, with the salt deposits thought to have developed through the evaporation of prehistoric bodies of water.

Ensuring the fair treatment and compensation of the workers who meticulously carved it from the depths of the mountain was paramount to us.

Breathe in the Goodness

Our caves are bastions of negative ions! Despite their name, negative ions are actually beneficial for human health, whereas positive ions can be harmful. The highest concentrations of negative ions are typically found in natural, clean air. Ions are electrically charged particles in the air, which can be molecules or atoms. Some are positively charged, while others are negatively charged. Essentially, positive ions are molecules that have lost one or more electrons, whereas negative ions are oxygen atoms with extra negatively charged electrons. Natural environments such as waterfalls, ocean surf, beaches, mountains, and forests are rich sources of negative ions.

Negative ions offer numerous health benefits:

  1. Neutralizing free radicals.

  2. Revitalizing cell metabolism.

  3. Enhancing immune function.

  4. Purifying the blood.

  5. Balancing the autonomic nervous system, promoting deep sleep and healthy digestion.

One of the most significant benefits of negative ions is their ability to cleanse the air of airborne allergens like pollen, mold spores, bacteria, and viruses. Additionally, they remove dust, pet dander, and cigarette smoke from the air. Negative ions achieve this by binding to positively charged particles, causing them to become negatively charged and too heavy to remain airborne. Consequently, these harmful particles are prevented from entering the respiratory system and causing illness.

Relax & Rejuvenate

Salt caves are extremely relaxing. We suggest you wear something comfortable and arrive 5 to 10 minute prior to your scheduled appointment time so you can prepare to enter the caves which are maintained at a comfortable 70-72 degrees.

We ask that, prior to entering the caves, you remove your shoes and wear only clean socks into the caves. We have keyed lockers for your valuables including your phones, handbags, and watches. (Salt is not kind to all things ; )

Once inside, you can select in an oversized zero-gravity chair or lay directly in the salt. If you are sharing the space with others, we ask that you be kind, respectful, and quiet.

After the doors close, music and sounds of the ocean will fill the air as microparticles of salt are dispensed from the halogenerator. Simply relax and practice deep breathing exercises - gently breathe in through the nose and exhale from the mouth. Most people find the experience so calming they fall asleep.

The caves are communal unless you book a private party. The largest cave, Harmony, is on the main floor and Tranquility is on the second floor (no elevator - you must climb the stairs). Please select a cave that meets your physical needs.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
